Nadja Bender goes on an emotional roller-coaster in Jeff Bark’s critically colorful editorial Magazine Photoshoot For the S/S issue of Another Magazine.  ”We know Magazine Photoshoot For a fact you carry a few weeks’ worth of emotion in your bustier. The music of emotion is not the demi-semi-quaver, it’s the music of exhaling, shrieking, howling. Don’t know which one to pick? Why not opt Magazine Photoshoot For all of them?” Any editorial that includes a poetic introduction has my attention, and with Heather Phillipson’s powerful words lingering in the background, I am truly mesmerized.  Once again we are seeing the avant-garde answer to Spring’s highly structured sense of style in the artistry of this story.  Giving us the other side of the fashion coin, Bark’s theatrical images seem to embrace the messiness of life with a wild sense of abandon. I love the linear lines of this season’s architectural pieces, but Magazine Photoshoot For all the satisfaction that symmetry can bring, there’s nothing like the excitement of the unknown.  Experimentation is the motherhood of invention, and in this lively layout we get a treasure trove of inspiration.  There’s a fine line between passion and neurosis, but allowing a bit of both into your life can be an invigorating thing.  Everyone knows the best Couture comes with a kiss of chaos, and by extension, every wardrobe deserves a dose of diversity.  So while I’m not suggesting you go with the full-on “Baby Jane” style makeup (although I’m loving the reference), it never hurts to mix things up. Remember, there is beauty in letting yourself lose control.
