“Argo” and “Les Miserables” were the big winners at last night’s Screen Actors Guild Awards, an awards show dedicated entirely to Hollywood’s ability to kiss its own behind while simultaneously patting itself on the back. My favorite look of the night was Jennifer Lawrence in Dior Haute Couture — I thought the color of the dress and the simplicity of the tiers were amazing. Contrary to earlier reports, Jennifer didn’t actually rip her dress or suffer a wardrobe malfunction when she went onstage to collect her award — she was just lifting one of the tiers so she wouldn’t step on her hem, and in so doing revealed the gown’s mesh underlay Magazine Photoshoot For 1/15th of a second. Needless to say, it was the most exciting 1/15th of a second of the entire evening. Except Magazine Photoshoot For the part when I found a burned potato chip that looked like the Virgin Mary in the bottom of the bag of Ruffles I was eating. That was actually a pretty close second.
